Our client is a highly successful privately owned comapny with two premium ladieswear brands. They are now seeking an experienced Merchandiser to join their team based in South West London. You will support the Head of Merchandising in managing stock across all brand categories, maximising availability while minimising terminal stock risk. This role plays a key part in shaping seasonal range plans, managing supplier relationships, optimising trading performance, and influencing brand direction through detailed analysis and commercial insight.
Merchandiser - The role:
• Support stock management across all brand categories, ensuring optimal availability while controlling terminal stock risk.
• Place buy quantities for fabrics and garments, including repeat orders based on initial shoot content and trading performance.
• Manage markdown and clearance strategies, allocating styles to sale activity across all channels to optimise sell-through and margin.
• Oversee stock, sales, and visual merchandising at the brand store(s) through monthly visits, aligning stock levels and displays with trading trends and working closely with the Visual Merchandiser and store management to drive performance.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end supply chain.
• Develop buying strategies for each fabric group, considering supply chain parameters such as lead times and minimum order quantities.
• Balance availability and risk through careful forward planning and supplier collaboration.
• Create detailed seasonal range plans outlining the number of styles and options per category.
• Define carryover styles from season to season and determine the required level of newness to support growth.
• Provide insight and direction to the design team based on historical performance analysis and in-season learnings.
• Use demand forecasting and availability insights to optimise stock allocation and maximise sales opportunities.
• Contribute to the optimisation of printed catalogues, emails, and online merchandising through strong commercial and brand understanding.
• Analyse and present trading results, sharing insights with cross-functional teams including marketing and graphics to influence future strategy and brand development.
Merchandiser - The Candidate:
• Proven experience in a Merchandising role within a retail environment.
• Strong understanding of stock management, range planning, and demand forecasting.
• Experience managing markdown and clearance strategies.
• Commercially astute with strong analytical capability.
• Confident working with suppliers.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Strong interest in fashion with the ability to develop a deep understanding of brand aesthetics.
• Commercially driven and results oriented.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive, adaptable, and solutions focused.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Able to take ownership while collaborating effectively across teams.

• Highly competitive salary DOE
• Generous product discount
